Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has expanded to include government agencies and other organizations with a clear interest in showing how they carry out their work. To the extent that ports are able to generate a positive impact on the economic, technological and social progress of their surroundings, they can secure their own sustainability as a company.
The Port-City concept is universal and allows benefits to be shared, resources to be maximized and competitive strengths of a privileged location to be built. The port and the city are joined not only by physical conditions, but by functional aspects that make their economies and operations a necessarily coordinated whole.
